easiest way to understand what we can offer is to see us as a
huge support network to help you through pregnancy and early
parenthood. For some people, that support may be attending our
very popular ante-natal classes, or contacting a breast
feeding counsellor for others it may be meeting new mums at a
coffee mornings, finding out about child-friendly cafes in
York or escaping from the “little darlings” on a wild

Mum-to-Be
or new Mum ?
Come
to NCT’s Bumps and Babes, It is an ideal way for all mothers-to be
and new mothers with babies up to12 months to make new friends. It
is held every Tuesday between 10.30 and 12.30 at Edward the
Confessor Church Hall on Tadcaster Road (Term time only). To cover costs mothers
asked to contribute a small amount at each session they attend. Please

BRA AGENCY
It
is important that you have a good fitting bra during pregnancy and
where better to look than at Mava bras. These bras are
designed to provide support during pregnancy and can have a drop cup
if you choose to breastfeed. Phone 07005 801 243 - and

NEW SALES

Having a child can be expensive.
There is just so much equipment on the market. To try to make it all
a bit easier on your pocket the NCT organise Nearly New Sales. These
take place two to three times a year. They are run by volunteers
helped by sellers. Sales tend to start at 2pm and go on
till 4pm.
Buying.
At a typical sale you might
expect to be able to buy:
Maternity wear,
feeding clothes,
newborn
baby clothes, newborn equipment
(including baskets, bedding, nappy bins, washable nappies,
sterilisers, breast pumps etc), prams,
pushchairs, buggies,
baby clothes and toys,
toddler
clothes and toys, safety equipment
(e.g. fire guards, stair gates etc.),
There may well be a few trade stands
too, e.g. Bra’s, books, cards...
There will always be refreshments -
home made cakes biscuits, along with teas coffees and soft drinks.
Selling.
We not only try to make it easier in the
first instance but we try to keep the expense down by allowing
parents to sell nearly new items in an attempt to re-coup some of
the cost so it can be spent on the next set of essentials. Selling
at Nearly New Sales allows you to give something back to your local
NCT Charity as a small percentage of sales profits go to the NCT.
